Head golf coach

Coach John Olmstead has a lifelong passion for golf, which he began pursuing at an early age. He has competed at both the high school and collegiate levels, earning All-Conference Honors twice and a place in the Occidental College Sports Hall of Fame. At Occidental, Coach Olmstead was also the recipient of the prestigious Jesse Clark Memorial Award, an honor bestowed by league coaches and players in recognition of his sportsmanship and commitment to honoring the game.

With an extensive coaching career spanning multiple sports at the high school level, including golf and basketball, Coach Olmstead brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. He has even spent three years as a caddy on the PGA tour, further honing his expertise and understanding of the sport. Currently playing at the Oregon Golf Club, Coach Olmstead maintains a low single-digit handicap, demonstrating his ongoing dedication to the game. 


Our golf team competes in the Boys 3A-1A, Golf Special District 1.
