Yes. Biblical values are emphasized and modeled throughout the day. Scripture and Bible stories are integrated into our curriculum as we strive to introduce God’s love to our children.

We believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit as they are revealed in Scripture.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only eternal Son of God and that He was born of the Virgin Mary, sinless, crucified on the cross, raised from the dead, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father.

We believe that salvation is found in no other way than through the acceptance of the forgiveness of sin offered through belief in Jesus and His atoning sacrificial death on the cross.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and therefore truth.

We are a ministry of Horizon Community Church and therefore adhere to the Tenets of Faith of the church. These are available upon request.

Our teachers are loving and qualified professionals. Teachers are required to have a degree in education or related field.  All employees are carefully screened and enrolled in the State of Oregon Criminal History Registry.  Staff members are required to take continuing education seminars and classes throughout the year.

Students can enroll at 3 years old.

Yes.  Your child should be able to express that they need to use the restroom and have the ability to do so.  We expect occasional accidents and are prepared to assist the student as needed to clean up during those times.

The State of Oregon ratio is 10 students to every one teacher. However, we know that lower student-to-teacher ratios mean building better educational opportunities and interpersonal relationships with both our students and our parents. We keep our student to teacher ratios at 6 to 1. Our low ratio allows our students to get an abundance of quality, individual attention from our well-qualified staff.

We are very excited about the curriculum we are using called The InvestiGator Club.  This program received the National Teacher's Choice Award and is Head Start approved.

Horizon Christian Learning Center opened in 1987 to provide the southwest suburbs of Portland, Oregon with a Christian alternative to public education. Since that time the school and Learning Center has continued to grow and flourish under the leadership, support, and encouragement of Horizon Community Church.

We work with the State of Oregon child support services, Military Assistance programs, and various college education childcare support services.
