applications for the 2022-2023 SChool Year open on January 20, 2022

2021-2022 School Year: We have reached capacity in our K-8th classes, but still have seats available for 9th-12th grades. Please complete an Inquiry Form for the 21-22 school year and we will reach out to you about next steps for applying.

STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
We welcome students of varied learning levels, both those with learning challenges and high-achieving students. At this time, we have reached our ability to effectively support and accommodate any more students with 504 Plans or IEPs at the elementary and middle school. We value each student and providing quality academics, within our resources, is a priority. This priority helps ensure that effective learning takes place for all students. Therefore, we will not be able to enroll additional students who need extra support with 504 Plans or IEPs. Each year we will evaluate our capacity and update our information at that time.

STEPS FOR NEW STUDENTS TO APPLY FOR THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR

1. APPLICATION - There is a $30 nonrefundable application fee paid when the application is submitted.
Applying is easy using our Online Application. To begin, Create an Account or login using your existing Application Account to complete an application. Once the application is submitted, you will be contacted to schedule an interview/assessment, based on availability. (To help you plan for what is needed in the application, be prepared to provide two reference names for us to follow-up with for 6th-12th graders, and the latest report card/transcripts for 1st-12th graders.)

Please note: The application to Horizon Christian School is a separate application from the Variable Tuition Financial Aid Application, and both need to be completed if you are interested in applying for tuition assistance.

2. INTERVIEW or ASSESSMENT
Kindergarten Teacher Assessment: Enjoy the opportunity to meet with one of our kindergarten teachers for 20-30 minutes in a one-on-one session. During this time, teachers will talk with your child, observe their academic readiness, social and emotional maturity, and ask some “getting to know you” questions.
1st-5th Principal Assessment: Our elementary principal will assess each incoming student(s) with a quick grade level Reading, Writing and Math activity. It is a low-key look at behavior and academic ability, and serves to help us consider if Horizon Christian is the right fit for your child.
6th-12th Principal Interview: Meet with our principal to share more about your student and why Horizon Christian will be a good fit.

3. ENROLLMENT
You will be notified of your acceptance and emailed the steps to complete the online enrollment process.

WAIT POOL PROCESS
Horizon Christian School uses the “Wait Pool” model for each grade level after classroom capacity has been reached, (currently at 15 students per room). To be added to our Wait Pool, applications must be submitted in their entirety. A student may be placed in the Wait Pool prior to, or after an assessment/interview meeting has taken place, depending on when the classroom capacity is reached. You will receive communication if your student has been placed in the Wait Pool. Students will remain in the Wait Pool until a spot becomes available, at which point you will be contacted to proceed to the next step. Click Wait Pool for more information.

If you need more information or have questions regarding applying, please contact our admissions team.

Sincerely,
