2022-2023 applications are open
We are grateful for your interest in Horizon Christian School and believe our school is a fantastic choice for the education of your student(s). If you have any questions or need assistance, we invite you to contact our Admissions Team, otherwise, please complete an application by following the steps listed below.
APPLICATIONS and WAIT POOL OPPORTUNITIES:
Our high school has seats available in 9th, 11th, and 12th grades and we are accepting applications for those available seats. Our elementary and middle school is nearing capacity; however, we are still accepting applications for 2nd-8th grade. If a seat is not readily available, you will be added to the Wait Pool for possible openings during the spring and summer.
Each enrollment year we have multiple families change their plans or relocate, which creates openings in various grade levels. As new seats become available, we will reach out to families in our Wait Pool who have submitted a complete application and move them along in the admissions process. Please see Wait Pool Process for more information.
STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
We welcome students of varied learning levels, both those with learning challenges and high-achieving students. At this time, we have reached our ability to effectively support and accommodate any more students with 504 Plans or IEPs at the elementary and middle school. We value each student and providing quality academics, within our resources, is a priority. This priority helps ensure that effective learning takes place for all students. Therefore, for the 2022-2023 school year, we will not be able to enroll additional students who need extra support with 504 Plans or IEPs. Each year we will evaluate our capacity and update our information at that time.
STEPS FOR NEW STUDENTS TO APPLY FOR THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR
1. APPLICATION - There is a $30 nonrefundable application fee paid when the application is submitted.
Applying is easy using our Online Application. To begin, Create an Account or login using your existing Application Account to complete an application. Once the application is submitted, you will be contacted to schedule an interview/assessment, based on availability. (To help you plan for what is needed in the application, be prepared to provide two reference names for us to follow-up with for 6th-12th graders, and the latest report card/transcripts for 1st-12th graders.)
Please note: The application to Horizon Christian School is a separate application from the Variable Tuition Financial Aid Application, and both need to be completed if you are interested in applying for tuition assistance.
2. INTERVIEW or ASSESSMENT
Kindergarten Teacher Assessment: Enjoy the opportunity to meet with one of our kindergarten teachers for 20-30 minutes in a one-on-one session. During this time, teachers will talk with your child, observe their academic readiness, social and emotional maturity, and ask some “getting to know you” questions.
1st-5th Principal Assessment: Our elementary principal will assess each incoming student(s) with a quick grade level Reading, Writing and Math activity. It is a low-key look at behavior and academic ability, and serves to help us consider if Horizon Christian is the right fit for your child.
6th-12th Principal Interview: Meet with our principal to share more about your student and why Horizon Christian will be a good fit.
You will be notified of your acceptance and emailed the steps to complete the online enrollment process.
If you need more information or have questions regarding applying, please contact our admissions team.
